Sports Day 2022

W/B 20th June 2022 - Daily Sports Challenges

This week, our school are taking part in a five-day sports week. Every day, each year will receive two sports challenges, and take part to see what scores they can get. On Monday, year 4 took part in a gymnastics and balance challenge. For the gymnastics, each child had to hula hoop for as long as possible and for the balance, everybody saw how long they could balance on one leg for. Some children were even able to hula hoop and balance for one minute, earning them a ‘gold medal’ score.

We developed our knowledge further by designing our very own balanced meal making sure we would be able to sustain ourselves. Monday 31st January - Tuesday 1st February 2022 - STEAM Day 2

We have been very lucky to have another STEAM day this week! This half term's question was 'How could we get into space?'. We looked at the different ways we can travel into space, such as jet packs, balloons and of course rockets! We discussed if our suggestions would work and what problems would occur. We finally decided that rockets were the best way to get us 'out of this world'! We then spent some time looking at rockets and took inspiration from various designs, looking at the aerodynamics and adding wings, to ensure we create the most effective rocket! We then got to launch our rockets, using white vinegar, bicarbonate of soda and water (and a very wet Mr Odell!). Take a look at some of the photos from the day and even a video of one of our rocket launches!

School Council Fundraising

This year, the school council would like children to create Christmas Cards and support Mission Christmas.

Firstly, the children have been asked to make cards for people who may be lonely and isolated this Christmas. These should be done on card, be colourful and have a nice poem/message inside. Please return them to school for Thursday 11th November.

Secondly, we are supporting Mission Christmas in partnership with HITS radio. They send gifts to children who are less fortunate and otherwise wouldn't receive gifts at Christmas. Any donations would be gratefully received. Please remember to wrap and label the present with the appropriate age group. The deadline for gifts is Friday 10th December.
