Hello,

Please find below a version of our Christmas Production. We had to compress the file to get it onto the website. We have saved a much better copy which you can access through Teams. Please let me know through Seesaw if you have any problems.

I am sure you can agree that the children did an amazing job and we were so so proud of them. As you can imagine, doing a Christmas production during a pandemic meant there were lots of children off so it hasn't been easy! We hope you like it!

Friday 17th December

This morning we have been quietly concentrating to carefully colour our Christmas decorations and coordinate pictures.

Wednesday 15th December

As our New Beginnings topic comes to end, we have been looking at the Bronze Age and the Beaker People, who brought new skills to Britain during this time. We had a go at designing our own pots and made them out of clay. The whole class did a fantastic job and you can see the finished pots in the pictures below.

Friday 10th December

This afternoon we had lots of fun at our annual Christmas fair.  Our pine cone Christmas trees and festive bookmarks sold out, and our “Find the elf” game was very popular.  Afterwards we played some party games and finished the afternoon by watching the first half of a Christmas film.  Many thanks for all of your prize donations.

Friday 26th November

This morning we had a seond practise of our Christmas Production.  Attached are the song words if needed, and you will find the music on Class 3JM's class page.

Thursday 25th November

Today has been a whole school STEAM day.  STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics.

The theme of our day was “What is Space?”  We began the day by finding out about planets of the Solar System, followed by some research on Saturn in particular.  After break, we focused on the artist Wassily Kandinsky.  We learned about his life and created our own circular pieces based on his style.  This afternoon we combined our morning activities to make a large class collage of Saturn in the style of Kandinsky which will go on display in the hall.

Friday 19th November

It has been a very busy week in Year 3!  Today we have ended Geography awareness week by locating the continents and finding out about a country in Europe.  We then went to present our findings to Ash class.  Well done everyone!

Thursday 18th November

This week we have been taking part in some anti-bullying activities in class.  Today we have thought of an alphabet (minus a few tricky letters)  of kind words which is too good not to share!

Monday 4th October - Stamford Park Trip

Today, we took a trip to Stamford Park to practise our geography skills. It was a great opportunity for us to put into action everything we have learning about orienteering and how we use maps to get around. We also learnt a lot about the park’s history and the stories behind some of the features we identified along the way.

Friday 1st October - Homework

This evening your child will have brought home a wallet containing this week's homework.  You will find a half-termly spelling overview (Mrs Tait's group will still receive a weekly spelling sheet) and a maths homework.  Please choose one chilli challenge (or more if you wish) and upload a photo of the completed task to Seesaw and we will check it there.

Please could children also bring their reading book and yellow bookmark to school everyday.

Next Thursday is National poetry day and each class has chosen a poem to perform.  There is another copy of the poem in the wallet if it didn't make it home last night.  Your child knows which line they are performing and has practised a little accompanying action with their group.
