Stamford Park Primary School is committed to the safeguarding of all pupils, staff and stakeholders in our care, as the highest priority. We aim to develop and maintain a ‘culture of vigilance’ to ensure all children and learners are protected and feel safe, and that signs and symptoms of abuse are picked up.
Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play in safeguarding children. We recognise that school staff play a particularly important role, as they are in a position to identify concerns early and provide help and support for children to prevent concerns escalating. We will take prompt and effective action in order to address any child protection concerns that arise. We will maintain and continue to enhance a positive whole-school safeguarding ethos.
All staff receive regular training and maintain an attitude of ‘it could happen here.’ When concerned about the welfare of a child, staff members must always act in the best interests of the child.
Safeguarding is regularly monitored and reviewed through ongoing communication and oversight. The Headteacher meets regularly with the Safeguarding Link Governor to discuss safeguarding practice and ensure robust procedures are in place. In addition, Senior Management Team (SMT) meetings include a standing agenda item for safeguarding, providing an opportunity to raise and discuss any relevant concerns in line with our safeguarding policy and guidance.
