When does the school day begin and end?

These details are available on the ‘School day’ page.

What should my child bring to school?

Each child will need to attend school with a list of items to support their learning. These include:

KS2

  • Pencil case – Including pencil, pen, ruler, rubber, glue stick and pencil crayons.
  • Reading book – School will provide this
  • Water bottle
  • Healthy snack
  • Lunch – If on packed lunches.
  • A coat (when needed)
  • Sun hat (when needed)

What do I need to wear to school?

School uniform consists of:

  • White shirt or white polo shirt
  • Grey skirt, shorts or trousers
  • Stamford Park jumper/cardigan or navy blue knitted jumper/cardigan.
  • All long hair should be tied back with a hair bobble.
  • Other hair accessories can include plain hairbands, which lie flat on the head and plain hairclips.
  • Appropriate black /navy school shoes – These should not be trainers.

What do I need to wear for school if my child has PE?

If your child has a PE lesson that day, we would ask they come into school wearing their PE kit to save valuable time during the day. If they have a club before or after school, please can the children bring their PE/uniform in a bag to change at the relevant time.

School PE Kit consists of:

  • White round neck t-shirt
  • Trainers
  • Black/ navy tracksuit bottoms, shorts or skorts
  • Stamford Park hoodies or jumpers (plain black or navy) may be worn outside if it is cold
  • Coats may be worn during wet weather

What days does my child have PE?

Your child has PE on:

4RO - Tuesday

4SH - Tuesday

What homework does my child need to complete?

We believe that children’s homework should support the learning that takes place in school. We also recognise that homework can be difficult to complete in many situations. Therefore, we have come up with a homework strategy that enables flexibility whilst adding value to in-school learning.

Each week we encourage the children to complete:

KS2

  • MyMaths – An online portal with personalised activities to support your child’s maths understanding. Each half-term, this is updated with a range of activities for your child to complete.
  • Reading – Each child is expected to read each evening, ideally with an adult for a short time.
  • Spellings – Each week the children are tested on a sequence of spelling words to build vocabulary. We would ask that they practise these at home to help with retention and understanding.

What should I do if I need to contact my child’s teacher?

Each class has a class email that the teacher will monitor.

Our emails are 4ro@spprimary.org.uk and 4sh@spprimary.org.uk

This email is for specific queries and should be used only when needed to ensure all queries are dealt with in a timely fashion. For all general queries, please email the school office. Link to be found on the ‘Contact us’ page.

What do I do if I am worried about my child?

If you have concerns about your child in any form, we welcome you to contact the school through the relevant channel, and we can arrange a time to discuss this with you. Additional information can be found on the ‘Mental Health and Wellbeing’ page.
