Home Learning
Home learning is designed to build upon the concepts and skills that pupils have been learning across a range of subjects. Our Home Learning Policy can be found on our Policies page.
Key Stage 1 - Years 1 and 2
- Reading and sharing books daily; adults to keep a signed record in the Reading Record
- Weekly spellings (Year 1 – from Autumn 2) which follow spelling patterns taught
- Weekly Maths activities via My Maths (Year 2)
- List of home learning activities (at least 5 per half-term)
Show and Tell
We encourage children to share meaningful experiences, achievements and learning from home.
An appropriate Show and Tell item might include:
- A certificate, medal or award
- A photograph from a special event or activity
- A piece of artwork, model or project
- A book that has been enjoyed at home
- Evidence of a new skill, hobby or achievement
- Something linked to recent learning or a current interest
A Note for Parents and Carers
Please only send items that are recent, relevant and meaningful to your child. Show and Tell is intended for special achievements, experiences or learning opportunities rather than everyday toys or possessions. Thank you for helping us make sharing time purposeful and enjoyable for everyone. 🌟
