History of our School

Stamford Park School was built in 1905 by the renowned school architect Henry Lord and officially opened in 1906. At the time, the school provided education for children up to the age of 14, with approximately 90 pupils on roll.

In 1910, the Infant School was formally opened. Class sizes were significantly larger than today, with some exceeding sixty children - reflecting the very different nature of education at the time.

Over a century later, the school continues to be a proud and distinctive part of the local community. In February 2020, the Infant and Junior buildings, along with the master’s house and play sheds, were awarded Grade II listed status by Historic England. This recognises their historical and architectural significance, with many original features still visible today. The buildings are particularly notable as examples of Henry Lord’s specialist work in school design.

A significant milestone in the school’s journey came in September 2021, when Stamford Park Infant School and Stamford Park Junior School amalgamated to form Stamford Park Primary School. This brought together a shared heritage and a unified vision, creating new opportunities for children to learn and thrive within one school community.
