At Stamford Park, we want all children to keep learning and thriving, whether they are in school or learning from home. Our remote learning approach is designed to be flexible, positive, and supportive for families, recognising that every household is different. We aim to personalise learning to meet the needs of each child. Below is our overall school approach.
If your child needs to learn from home, we will:
Provide meaningful and well-sequenced work that follows the curriculum taught in school.
Share daily learning activities in English, maths and foundation subjects. These are accessed through our secure Microsoft Teams platform. Your child will be given a login to access these lessons.
Include a balance of online resources, independent tasks, and practical activities that can be done at home.
Offer feedback and encouragement to keep children motivated.
We expect pupils to engage with remote learning daily where possible. Staff will monitor participation and follow up with families where engagement is limited.
We will only use live or recorded online lessons if the whole school, or a large group, is required to close.
Children in Key Stage 1 (Years 1–2) will receive around 3 hours of learning each day.
Children in Key Stage 2 (Years 3–6) will receive around 4 hours of learning each day.
Work will be shared in manageable chunks and designed to support independent completion where appropriate.
Teachers will monitor pupils’ progress and adapt future tasks accordingly.
Adaptations are also made to support children who are identified as having a Special Educational Need or Disability. Such support could include, but is not limited to:
We know home learning can be a challenge. To help, we will:
Provide paper copies or loan devices if online access is difficult.
Offer clear timetables and instructions.
Stay in regular contact with families through phone or email.
Provide support for wellbeing as well as learning.
Your child’s safety is our priority. During remote learning we:
Follow our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.
Use secure, approved platforms.
Share regular reminders about online safety with children and families.
All communication and online remote learning should follow our Online Safety Policy to ensure everyone remains safe online. Any safeguarding concerns identified during remote learning will be followed up in line with our safeguarding procedures, and where necessary, reported to the appropriate safeguarding leads.
