Relationships and Sex Education (RSE)

How RSE links to our school values;

Consideration - During our PSHE lessons we focus on understanding people’s backgrounds, beliefs, and characteristics showing consideration through being able to express themselves in a safe, supportive space open for discussion where children can express opinions, ask questions and seek help.

Cooperation - PSHE provides structured opportunities for children to work together on shared goals. During the lessons children will take part in collaborative tasks, paired discussion and cooperate to solve problems or explore topics such as friendships.

Resilience - Resilience is directly taught, the children will learn skills to manage their emotions, solve problems and have healthy coping mechanisms for coping with negative feelings.

Respect - PSHE teaches respect by promoting empathy, acceptance, and understanding of others' rights, values, and differences, promoting fair treatment, healthy relationships, and positive communication like active listening, kindness, and setting boundaries.
