Intent
At Stamford Park Primary School, we ensure that the arts are valued and all staff are dedicated to the effective teaching of Art. We believe that if we teach children to produce creative work, explore their ideas and record them in their sketchbooks, it will then contribute to the quality of their lives, within school and in the wider community. We feel that Art helps to support children’s learning in a variety of ways, as these skills can then be developed and used across the curriculum in other subjects. Art allows children to express themselves in a creative manner that gives children deep, critical thinking skills and a stronger basis for communication. Our curriculum is designed to inspire pupils and develop their confidence to experiment and invent their own works of art.
